Burton for McQueen.

Sarah Burton has been named as the new creative director of Alexander McQueen. The Mancunian designer who graduated from Central St Martins in 1997, worked with McQueen for 16 years and was credited for finishing the late designers Autumn/Winter 2010 collection, which sadly he never got to finish.

"The creation of modern, beautifully crafted clothes was at the heart of Lee's vision. I intend to stay true to his legacy,"says Burton to Vogue.co.uk.

It will be incredibly interesting journey, to see how well Burton can continue on with the McQueen name, staying true to Lee's aesthetic but also moving the brand forward. But then again, who better to do the job than her?
