The 83rd Academy Awards.

My favourite looks of the night, went to these four lovely ladies, all wearing dresses that couldn't be more different - but that was why they were so great. The Oscars red carpet looks were more toned town than in previous years, (not even Helena Bonham Carter went all out). But anyway, I thought the Cate Blanchett in Givenchy Couture, looked absolutely beautiful, and so graceful too - I think this was my favourite look of the lot. Secondly, the wonderfully ethereal Michelle Williams in Chanel Couture, looking just lovely  - the perfect choice for her. Third, was Best Actress winner, Natalie Portman wearing Rodarte (nice touch) who looked glowing in the deep purple number - the colour was perfect for her. And finally, there was Florence Welch in Valentino Couture, who I thought looked great - not many could pull that dress of, but Flo worked it to perfection.
Here are some of the other looks of the night which I think really worked, from left: Sandra Bullock in Vera Wang, Anne Hathaway in Valentino archive, Amy Adams in L'wren Scott, Mila Kunis in Elie Saab, Mandy Moore, Hailee Steinfeld in Marchesa.

And finally...

A HUGE congratulations to Colin Firth for winning Best Actor for the Kings Speech - thoroughly deserved, for his portrayal of the stuttering King VI.
