Okay, so im ashamed to say i have been neglecting my blog recently, after struggling to think of something interesting to say. You could call it a severe case of writers block. However, i have something new to gush about. After recently discovering the wonder that is Mad Men, i have fallen in love with it. Set in the the late 1950s early 60s, (my favourite style eras in fact) it follows the lives of people working in an advertising agency, there domestic lives and their many infidelities. The costumes- brilliantly designed by Janie Bryant - are just beautiful, elegant and super stylish. Each female character is like a symbol of a woman of the time- Betty Draper as Grace Kelly, Peggy Olsen as Jackie O-ish and of course Joan as Marylin Monroe.
My obsession is growing more and more by the day, so much so that i bought the box set. If you haven't seen it then you should be ashamed! its a truly wonderful show, expressing the strains life in 1950s America, where the people are consumed by the American Dream.
